Location & Accessibility

The Office of Convocation and Convocation Hall are located on the St. George Campus, on King's College Circle. Both are conveniently located in the heart of Toronto.

Impact for Convocation: The University of Toronto's Landmark Project has prohibited vehicular traffic on King's College Circle. Please plan your route accordingly.

When attending your ceremony, please allow yourself extra time to ensure that you arrive on campus in a timely manner.


The Office of Convocation is responsible for the logistical details of the student and guest related elements of over 40 convocation ceremonies annually. The office is also responsible for the reissue of degrees and diplomas as well as the verification of the graduation status of University of Toronto alumni.

The Office of Convocation will be open to graduating students during ceremonies.

* please note that the Office of Convocation is closed for Statutory, Civic, and University holidays

The accessible entrance is to the left of the Simcoe Hall entrance, directly between Convocation Hall and Simcoe Hall. The elevator is approximately 20 feet inside the entrance (turn right through the glass doors). Proceed up to Level 1, where you will exit the elevator vestibule, turn right, proceed straight for approximately 10 feet, turn right, and proceed another ten feet until you reach the wickets for the Office of Convocation.

Ceremonies are held in Convocation Hall at 31 King’s College Circle located 2 blocks west of University Avenue, 1 block north off College Street, and right beside the Office of Convocation.

The primary accessible entrance is on the south side of Convocation Hall, off Galbraith Road. Vehicular drop-off can be at this point as well.
- faces south and west towards the Sanford Fleming building and St. George Street 
- entrance via ramp, with more power doors inside 
- leads to main rotunda and accessible seating on floor level of the main hall. There is no interior elevator in the hall and no accessible seating in the main hall tiers or in the balconies 

A secondary accessible entrance for Convocation Hall and Simcoe Hall is to the left of the Simcoe Hall entrance, directly between Convocation Hall and Simcoe Hall. Dark wood door between colonnade and Simcoe hall entrance. 
- faces north towards the field 
- entrance at grade, with more power doors inside 
- accessible washroom to right inside this entrance 
- leads to main rotunda (turn left once inside) and accessible seating on floor level of the main hall. 

Convocation Hall is located on Line 1 of the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) subway system, with the closest station being Queen's Park. It is also accessible via the 506 Carlton Streetcar route.

The elevator at Queen's Park station is on the southeast corner of University and College. Escalators can be found at the southwest and northeast station entrances.

Impact for June: Construction due to the University of Toronto's Landmark Project has prohibited vehicular traffic on King's College Circle.

Parking on campus is limited. Public transit is recommended if possible. However, space is usually available at the parking garage at 107 St. George Street (across from Robarts Library)  (see map).

This parking garage is a gated, pay-on-foot system. Payment is made when leaving the garage, either at one of the pay stations in the elevator lobby of the building, or at the exit gate. Payment can be made by cash, Visa, Mastercard, or American Express.
